José Daniel Granados Carranza is a Honduran/Belgian filmmaker and photographer. He holds a Master's degree in Audiovisual Arts from the Royal Institute for Theatre, Film and Sound (RICTS) in Brussels.
His bachelor's project "Yibril", a moving story about immigration and empathy that unfolds in the heart of Europe, was selected for the 22nd International Short Film Festival Leuven 2016 (Belgium) where it won the VAF WILD CARD FICTION 2016.
He also made "LOS VEO" 2020, which received an ENSOR nomination for Best Short Film 2022. He is currently working on the post-production of his latest short film, "Het gewicht van zand" (The Weight of Sand), and on developing the script for his first feature film, "Zandvlinders" (Sand Butterflies).
He mainly works on fiction and documentary projects, always focusing on the human side of the stories. That is why he founded Human Films together with Vincent Groos, a production company that focuses on telling deep, important and personal stories.
If it is human, it is magical.
